In Iceland, there is a strong belief in the Hidden people. We know they mostly live in rocks and hills and there are many tails of encounters with them in our folklore and daily life. They are very graceful beings, tall and royal looking. Many times humans have tried to destroy their homes and as frequently their machines have broken down repeatedly, until they would find other ways of making the road or what ever they needed to do. This happens so often that people do not find it strange to see stories about such encounters on the front cover of our main newspapers. Moreover, it is no shame to surrender to the powers of the hidden people.
This rock is most likely the home of a family of hidden people (Huldfolk).
