W. Gregory Stewart
W. Gregory
Stewart is a 4-time Rhysling award winner who commits poetry
between computer outages in Los Angeles, California - it is one way
of keeping global communications in perspective. If one picture is worth
a thousand words, Greg says, it is the business of poetry to close the
gap... He is the father of Jesse Sutherland Stewart. He is married to
Helen Shoenfeld. And he writes. Greg figures that about covers it...
I was also born in Toronto; my parents moved to Queensland about 30
years ago, and for years farmed bananas until retiring to a small claim
in the gemfields.
I stayed in the States - warmer than norther, and a little more civilized
than the outback....
Most importantly, I spend time working with kids on poetry and literacy
projects. We're all in this together, after all! As well, I'm
a regular poetry judge for the Pepperdine U. student publication,
"Expressionists". And I'm a volunteer librarian at the UCLA
experimental elementary school.
My poetry has been in Amelia, Amazing Stories, Asimov's, and
even some things that don't begin with the letter A...
