Pamela Uschuk
Pamela's
work has been published in scores of magazines and journals around the
world. It has been translated into Albanian, Bulgarian, Czech, Italian,
Macedonian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, and others. Her collection of
poems, FINDING PEACHES IN THE DESERT, was published by Wings
Press in 2000. A CD of music and her poems with the same title was
released in fall 2001. In fall 2002, her second collection, ONE-LEGGED
DANCER will be published by Wings. My work has been awarded prizes
by the National League of American PEN Women, IRIS, ASCENT, THE SANDHILLS
REVIEW and WILDWOOD Magazines, the King's English Prize
and Amnesty International. Pamela is the Director of the Center
for Women Writers at Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina,
and is married to the poet, William Pitt Root.
