Michael Lohr
I am a
university researcher, folklorist, musician, poet and writer. I live
in the United States, up a lonely, haunted hollow in the Blue Ridge
Mountains of Virginia.
From a writing perspective, I have published well over 500 articles,
short stories and poems worldwide. My writings have been published in
24 countries and translated into 18 languages, including Welsh, Hebrew,
Romanian, Croat, Malay, Icelandic and Tamil.
My first book of poetry entitled, "Murmurs from the Book of the Dragon"
(bilingual-English/German); was published in Germany 2001. It has sold
out of its first small press printing and has been picked up by a larger
German publisher for continued publication. The book has also been scheduled
for translation and publication into the French, Spanish and Dutch languages.
Solar-H Editions/Direct Books Deutschland is also publishing
my first novella, "The Forest of Winter".
I am a contributing author to the paperback archeoastronomy publication,
"Cascading Comets: Keys To Ancient Mysteries" - released by Stonehenge
Viewpoint Press (1998). I am also a contributing author to the ancient
history hardcover anthology, "Encyclopedia of the Ancient World"
(2001), by Salem Press.
I am also completing a full book-length collection of poetry and essays
for Silver Lake Publications entitled, "Anamchara: The Search
for Mythic Memories". It is an all-encompassing work that focuses
on the never-ending quest for spiritual enlightenment. Anamchara is
an ancient Celtic term that means soulmate. I believe we have many soulmates
that exist in this world. Searching for them is a matter of spiritual
necessity. I call it searching for a soul echo.
All of this is happening while I try to finish my first children's book
and my first novel. In addition, I am attempting to complete a book-length
collection of Haiku entitled, "Common Threads of Truth". There
truly seems not to be enough hours in the day.
