Eileen
Tabios is a poet, fiction writer, editor, critic and publisher. The
author, editor or co-editor of nine books and a poetry CD, she is also
the founder and editor of Meritage Press, a multidisciplinary
literary and arts press based in St. Helena, CA.
Her awards
include the Philippines' Manila Critics Circle National Book Award
for Poetry, the PEN/Oakland Josephine Miles National Literary Award,
and a Witter Bynner Poetry Grant. Recent books include MY
ROMANCE (essays and poems correlating the visual arts to poetry,
Giraffe Books, 2002), and REPRODUCTIONS OF THE EMPTY FLAGPOLE
(prose poems, Marsh Hawk Press, 2002).
