A member of the Singapore Society of Writers (1997-2001), Gan
Yung Chyan writes his poems and travel articles under his
pseudonym Kucinta Setia. He started writing English books
in 1996. His first Singapore English poetry collection Odes
to Edibles: An Anthology of Singapore dialect poems is first
published by Seaview Press in Henley Beach, Australia,
in 1998. His second book AgricAsia-PERU, on the agricultural
trade and ties between Asia and Peru, will be published in 2002
by Firstfruits Publications in Singapore. His prose essays
such as Singapore's Stone Age and Nature Calls appeared in Silver
Kris, Singapore Airlines' Inflight Magazine. His notable poems
about travel, nature and heritage have also been published in
Laos, the US, Hong Kong and Madagascar as well as in Singapore.
